So as part of my new fashion project - I gave a short visit to the Secret Weapon Lab - an accessory line by Cris. Her motto for her brand is ‘Dress to Kill’ and that theme is definitely reflective on her leather goods. Whether it is a touch of fierce pieces of gadgets or that little something extra that gives it the X factor, she does know how to push them through her designs!

Check out this promotional video of her line - one of the coolest fashion clips I’ve seen in a while. If you like her stuff, stay tuned, those little fierce ass things are going to be  my available on website shortly :) xx

// Not so amateur Thai designers//

It’s been a while since my last posting - needless to say - I’ve been busy cooking up a storm of ideas on my new project. I will let you in on the name once its all done but for now….its all about e-commerce meets fashion for a good cause! so stay tuned!

And since Susie Bubble laid out her ‘Sugar Thai’ posting, one designer in particular that she featured, Saruti or she goes by LookSorn, totally grabbed my full attention. (reminds me a little of Sretsis but she’s still in College!!! just FYI) So anyway, if you have a chance check out her facebook page. DO. Its quite couture-esque and all hand made. Very cute.

Saruti’s

Also I love these designs that came from the runner ups at the CFC awards…  the standards for this competition is soooo high.

Lastly the one legendary name I cannot fail to mention - Thakoon. He made all the Thais proud. More up and coming designer is Moo Eyewear (known for her customised baroque style embellishments on your sunnies) She stocks at OC and Browns and have been featured in numerous publications like Vogue, Elle and probably everything else. I also taken a quiet love for Victeerut, Kwankao, Disaya, Milin, and of course Sretsis. Cute designs!

To end on a high note, Vogue Thailand is coming soon. Rumours are the Elle Editor in Chief is moving to Vogue. Exciting to see what is on offer at this new Asia fashion hub!

// On the Streets Down Under//

No kangaroos in our backyards unfortunately. Sorry to disappoint, but on the other hand, this year’s Sydney Fashion Week was overflowing with top notch street style bloggers. Many other top photographers and editors from around the globe also made their way down under to check out these exciting new designs. Just to name drop a few who attended…. home grown Australian Harper’s Bazaar Fashion Editor’s Christine Centener, Yasmin Sewell, Gary Pepper Vintage’s Nicole Warne, Tuula Vintage’s Jessica Stein, Taylor Tomassi Hill,  FashionToast’s Rumi Neely, Lee Oliveira, and many many moreeee… The ladies and the photographers definitely had a field day. There were just so much colours, prints, and layers of vibrancy oozing around the Sydney Opera house.

Lets check out a few snaps from Vogue’s Phil Oh and Style.com’s Tommy Ton.

// Recap of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia//

So Australia Fashion Week just concluded yesterday. Having lived in Melbourne for 10 years gave me a chance to see some of these brands grow! Seeing the recaps of these shows makes me miss Australia loads! My ALL time favorite selection that I cannot go without are…

Sass and Bide (they show in London nowadays), Scalan Theodore (shows in Melbourne - so hold out for next years’ LMFF), Yeojin Bae (totally in loveeeee), the all time Classic Collette Dinnigan, Arabella Ramsay, Cohen and Sabine, Gorman, Karla Spetic (gorgeous cuts and so polished - wish they had a shop down in Melbourne), Lover, Thurley, Tina Kalivas, Josh Goot and Willow. (I know - long list - but do check them out, they’re all absolutely amazinggg)

So just a rundown of some of my favorite brands that showed in Syd… Here are a few snap shots of the looks I picked out from each collection.

Ginger & Smart had a very colourful season… didn’t excite me that much but I did pick out a few looks…

Manning Cartell I thought was amazing. They are solidly improving year by year!

Zimmermann this collection was all about pastels - a bit quirky (hard to wear), but they always deliver great swimwear pieces that you can keep after the season ends, always.

Lastly, Alice McCall - love that bohemian chic! Never lets me down…. some how this collection takes me back to Prada SS 12.

// My Neon Obsession: Cambridge Satchel//

Following my bracelets & bangles obsession, I am still not over my neon/fluoro phase from last summer. I purchased the bright (highlighter) yellow Cambridge Satchel bag in June and after 4 long weeks of the wait… (I got mine with my initials on them - highly recommend!!) it finally came.

My true inspiration was a feature of this little bag in Elle, Alexa Chung & her satchel and Carolina Engman’s Fashionsquad.com for their bag giveaway. It goes with pretty much everything, I usually wear it with prints and black&white.

[simple care instructions: It is made from 100% natural cow leather. It is a hard wearing product and will last for many many years if cared for in the correct way]

- Avoid using your satchel in heavy downpours - If leather does get wet, please wipe off any water and allow to dry naturally.

- If left in direct sunlight there is a chance it may fade the colour of your satchel

- You may choose to care for your leather satchel as with other leather products using an appropriate protector.

- Your bag will age over time, don’t panic this is normal as it is a natural product. Ordinary Vaseline works well on minor scuffs and abrasions to buff your satchel

I have gotten endless compliments after compliments everywhere I go… at my office at Harper’s Bazaar (they have loads in their closet), on the streets, in the shops, restaurants, anywhere really. Someone once said to me I could never get hit by a taxi again in New York because of my bag and how bright it is, thankfully! I seriously am in love with my satchel so much I will probably end up getting other one, if not in neon probably in Metallic. Anyone looking for more neon love: try mini Celine luggage, Christopher Kane’s pouch/clutch and Proenza Schouler PS1s.

// My DIY Marni-Inspired Bangle//

So it’s been a while since my last post and I’ve never done these kind of personal posts before. Shameless for some self advertising but they’re so cute. I’ve been busy sourcing some neon materials to make my Marni-inspired bangle from the markets. It took me a few times to get the colouring right but I got there in the end. On my second attempt - it proves that its better to have the lighter colour as the centre of the bracelet. A little tip - add a touch of glitter and sparkles - would make it stand out even more. DIY bangles are so easy to do and great for customisation cos you can have it however you like, big or small, and with the colour combo you love.

I am going through such an armswag/armcandy/armparty phase at the moment as summer is just around the corner (not for about 6 weeks, but whatever) we all need to be pumped and prepared for the balmy gorgeous weather with these.

I just couldn’t resist after seeing those…. had to make myself one!!
